Pune, 31st March 2025 –
Replus, a battery manufacturing facility owned by the LNJ Bhilwara Group, has announced plans to significantly increase capital expenditure, expanding production capacity from 1 GWh to 6 GWh by the end of next year.
This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for battery electric vehicles (EVs), which include passenger cars, buses, trucks, and large-scale renewable energy plants that use advanced battery packs and liquid-cooled BESS container solutions.
The upgraded facility will use a High-Speed Automation Manufacturing Process that combines automation, artificial intelligence, and data-driven techniques. Real-time monitoring, machine vision, robotic systems, automated material handling, and laser welding will be used to increase efficiency, accelerate production, and promote sustainability by lowering the carbon footprint.
The company intends to pursue a cell chemistry and technology agnostic strategy, allowing it to manage high energy density cells, blade cells, and future cell chemistries such as sodium-ion, LMFP, and LTO, among others.
Riju Jhunjhunwala, Vice Chairman of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, and Hiren Pravin Shah, Managing Director and CEO of Replus, announced the development, stating that the group is dedicated to advancing clean energy technologies across its various business sectors and is “committed to providing industry-leading products for EVs and energy storage system (ESS) applications.”
