Samsung’s M-series is about to get a new entry. The Galaxy M47 5G is on its way to India as the follow-up to last year’s M36 5G, and Amazon has already put up a teaser page for it.

Launch Confirmed
Nothing about this launch is a rumor at this point. The phone has cleared BIS certification under model number SM-M476B/DS, which is one of the last regulatory steps a phone needs before it can legally go on sale in India. Combine that with the live Amazon teaser, and Samsung is clearly just weeks away from making this official.
What the Phone Looks Like
Going by the promo images, Samsung wants this phone to look and feel pricier than its segment suggests. The unit shown is a maroon shade, finished in a matte texture that doesn’t grab fingerprints the way glossy backs do. Where it gets interesting is the camera ring and side rails, both done in a glossy red metallic tone that pops hard against the matte body.
Shape-wise, Samsung has moved away from the curvier design language of older M-series phones. This one has flatter sides and squared-off corners, closer to what you’d see on a flagship than a budget phone. Functionally, the power button on the right side now doubles as the fingerprint reader, you can tell from the small cutout built into the frame there.
Specs Confirmed via Geekbench
A Geekbench listing has already done the job of confirming what’s inside. The Galaxy M47 5G runs on Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, comes with 8GB of RAM, and ships with 128GB of base storage. If that’s not enough, there’s a microSD slot that takes the total up to 1TB.
Software-wise, it’s launching on the latest available stack: Android 16 with One UI 8 sitting on top.
Price Segment and Availability
Samsung is clearly gunning for the sub-Rs. 25,000 bracket with this one, which happens to be the most fought-over price segment in the Indian market right now. Once it’s official, you’ll be able to grab it either from Samsung’s own site or through Amazon.in, where the teaser is already live.
Given how far along the certification and listings already are, expect Samsung to lock in an official date soon.
