Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup could be getting a new member next year.
A recent leak suggests the company is working on a Galaxy S27 Pro, a model that may sit between the Galaxy S27+ and Galaxy S27 Ultra. If that happens, Samsung’s flagship range would gain an entirely new tier aimed at buyers who want premium hardware without stepping all the way up to the Ultra.
While details remain limited, early information offers a glimpse at how Samsung could position the device.
A Smaller Phone With Premium Ambitions
According to details shared by tipster Kro (@kro_itnyang), the Galaxy S27 Pro could feature a 6.5-inch display.
That size is interesting because it places the phone right in the middle of Samsung’s expected flagship lineup. It’s larger than the standard Galaxy S26’s 6.3-inch screen, but noticeably smaller than the 6.7-inch Galaxy S26+ and 6.9-inch Galaxy S26 Ultra.
If the leak is accurate, Samsung may be targeting users who find Ultra devices too large but still want access to higher-end features.
Battery Capacity May Match Current Ultra Models
The same leak claims the Galaxy S27 Pro will pack a 5,000mAh battery.
That wouldn’t be a small battery by any means, but it could leave some distance between the Pro and Ultra models. Rumors surrounding the Galaxy S27 Ultra point to a larger silicon-carbon battery that may offer between 5,500mAh and 6,000mAh capacity.
The report also suggests Samsung won’t include S Pen support on the Pro variant, which would be another clear distinction from the Ultra.
Ultra Camera Features Could Trickle Down
Perhaps the most notable claim is related to the cameras.
Samsung is reportedly considering bringing some of the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s rear camera hardware to the Pro model. The setup is said to include a 200-megapixel primary camera alongside a 50-megapixel ALoP camera.
If that happens, the Galaxy S27 Pro could appeal to users who care about photography but don’t necessarily want the largest phone Samsung offers.
A 12-megapixel selfie camera is also rumored for the device.
Still Plenty of Questions Left
Beyond the display, battery, and camera details, very little is known about the Galaxy S27 Pro.
Leaks suggest the device could run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, but Samsung’s overall strategy for the model remains unclear. Pricing, memory configurations, and regional availability haven’t surfaced yet.
What does seem increasingly likely is that Samsung is exploring ways to further separate its flagship lineup. The introduction of a Pro model would give the company another option between the Plus and Ultra tiers, much like what we’ve seen from several competing smartphone brands in recent years.
As always, it’s worth treating these details with caution until Samsung makes anything official.
