Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip8 alongside the new Galaxy Z Fold8 series, introducing its slimmest and lightest clamshell foldable to date. The latest Galaxy Z Flip8 focuses on AI-powered interactions, an upgraded FlexWindow, improved camera capabilities, and a more refined design.

It runs Android 17 with One UI 9 out of the box and is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8: Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 starts at $1,200 for the 256GB storage variant. The smartphone is available for pre-orders in select markets starting today.

It comes in Graphite, Cream, and Pink, while Mint will be sold exclusively through Samsung’s online store. Buyers will also receive a six-month Google AI Pro subscription with 5TB of cloud storage.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 Specifications

The Galaxy Z Flip8 sports a 4.1-inch AMOLED FlexWindow with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, while unfolding reveals a 6.9-inch AMOLED display, also supporting up to 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung says the device weighs just 180g and measures 6.1mm when unfolded, making it the thinnest and lightest Flip smartphone the company has launched so far.

Powering the foldable is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, paired with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of onboard storage. The phone packs a 4,300mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging support. It also features an IP48 rating, Wi-Fi 7, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the cover display, and Samsung’s Advanced Armor Aluminum frame.

For optics, the Galaxy Z Flip8 features a 50MP primary camera paired with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, while a 10MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls. Samsung has also introduced Flex Mode, Camcorder Grip with Zoom Rocker, Super Steady with Horizontal Lock, FlipShot, and Mirror View, allowing users to shoot hands-free content and preview selfies directly on the cover display.

Galaxy AI Gets Smarter

Samsung has redesigned the FlexWindow around Galaxy AI. The cover display now supports Now Brief, which surfaces contextual updates and reminders, while Gemini Intelligence enables voice-based automation directly from the FlexWindow.

Users can also access Now Nudge for contextual suggestions and Gemini Notebook, which organizes notes, recordings, files, and documents into AI-powered workspaces. One UI 9 further adds an AI Assistant Activity dashboard, enhanced privacy controls, and Samsung Knox-powered security for on-device AI experiences.

The combination of a larger AI-powered FlexWindow, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, improved 50MP camera system, and deeper Galaxy AI integration positions the Galaxy Z Flip8 as Samsung’s most capable Flip smartphone yet.
