Samsung’s next-generation foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, is expected to arrive in summer 2026. While the launch is still some time away, the first camera specifications of the device have surfaced online.
If this information turns out to be true, we’ll see upgraded telephoto and ultra-wide cameras from Samsung’s next-gen foldable. Here’s what the new leak suggests:
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Camera Specs Leaked
According to a GalaxyClub report, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature upgraded telephoto and ultra-wide cameras while keeping the same 200MP main sensor as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Both front cameras – one on the back cover and one on the large inner display – are expected to remain 10MP.
However, the next-gen foldable is said to opt for a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, which would be an upgrade over the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 10MP sensor; the same sensor is expected in the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. In addition, the report claims we’ll see a major upgrade for the ultra-wide camera, replacing the Fold 7’s 12MP unit with the S25 Ultra’s 50MP sensor.
The report further suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is not expected until July 2026. It is believed to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8, with more details likely to emerge in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S26 series by the end of January or early February. The lineup is expected to include the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
