Comix Zone is a beat-’em-up that looks like a million bucks. Players control a comic book artist who is sucked into his own created world by the villain, making for a unique atmosphere as players jump from panel to panel and stop this dastardly villain from emerging in the real world.

This is one of the hardest Sega games ever made, and players may struggle to clear stages without make at least a few attempts. However, the inherent charm of this title keeps fans coming back for more, ensuring that they’ll have a great time mastering the old-school combat mechanics and reaching the end of every harrowing stage.

It’s a shame that MadWorld was such a colossal financial failure since the black-and-white cel-shaded art style is eye-catching and shows what players are in for. Along with this, the gory combat ensures that players will love hacking off limbs and executing their enemies in this underrated action title.

Since the Wii was perceived as a family-friendly console, MadWorld failed to enjoy the reception it deserved. However, fans who gave this title a shot were pleased by the satisfying combat and striking visuals, turning it into a revered cult classic.

While the Sega CD failed to beat the competition, it had some timeless RPGs available for players.

Most people consider the second title, Streets of Rage 2, to be the best in the overall trilogy, featuring solid fighting mechanics that fans will find easy to master. Dying to a boss can be frustrating, but players who put in the work can easily dominate their foes with chained combos and teamwork.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot is a divisive game that both angered horror fans and pleased gamers who love compelling action combat in their titles. The melee combat in the first game felt desperate, but the sequel lets players string combos and smash their enemies to a pulp in style.

It may take away from the game’s eeriness, but players who want to beat maddened enemies to a pulp will love what Condemned 2 brings to the table. Acquiring melee weapons is a bonus that gives players more oomph against a group of enemies, which can be the difference between life and death.

There’s no denying that Yagami is a pretty uninteresting character who can be a pain to watch in cutscenes where he seems to lack any human emotions. However, this protagonist makes up for his dry personality in Lost Judgment with an impressive array of combat abilities.

He has more stances to choose from in fights, letting him take out a litany of foes in style. Uncovering his powerful EX Moves and smashing enemies to a pulp never gets old in a game that boasts one of the best combat systems seen in a Yakuza title, spinoff or otherwise.

From the moment Bayonetta wowed players with her femme fatale personality, fans were treated to a bombastic action game that’s all about spectacle. It’s easy to see why Nintendo was so eager to take the IP from Sega’s hands, wanting an infectious action series to be a predominant part of their exclusive strategy.

Yakuza 0 is the best entry point in this series, elaborating on Kiryu and Majima’s stories before they became the Dragon of Dojima and the Mad Dog of Shimano, respectively. After just a few hours with each character, players unlock three combat styles, each one a blast to use in combat.

While Majima’s style may be more fun to use, Kiryu’s combat feels right at home for long-time fans of the series. Either way, both storylines are a joy to engage with as players unlock a litany of moves and show their enemies who owns Kamurocho.

Virtua Fighter is one of Sega’s most popular franchises and players can’t get enough of it. While Virtua Fighter 4 is a fan-favorite, most people will agree that the fifth entry, Virtua Fighter 5, is the pinnacle of the series in terms of both visuals and gameplay.

The fighting mechanics are top-notch and ensure that players will have a great time mastering the game’s combat mechanics. Adept players can combo their opponents to oblivion, giving them barely any time to respond.
