Anno 117: Pax Romana is a city builder game where you manage your territory and build a large settlement on an empty island. It’s important to know which building is worth building, how to grow the economy, and how to handle diplomacy. Among the political decisions you can make in the game is within the campaign, where shortly after building Juliana, the Emperor will invite you for a visit. For this imperial invitation, you may wonder if you should take Sardines or just take yourself in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
Should You Take Sardines Or Just Yourself In Anno 117 Pax Romana
To summarize, it’s better not to bring Sardines for the imperial invitation, and just take yourself. In both cases, there’s no effect in the story, except that the Empress will comment on the smell if you choose to bring Sardines. Additionally, you also lose one of your Sardines in the inventory.
After deciding if you want to take something for the imperial invitation, you must wait until the imperial pleasure boat arrives. The boat will wait on the dock once it comes, and you can see it on the map as a purple circle. There’s no rush to attend the invitation, so you can do it whenever you want, but it needs to be done if you wish to progress with the story.
So when you’re ready, look at your dock and find the lavish pleasure boat. Press on it to get access to the quest button. Choose to board the boat to be taken to the Emperor’s place. Regardless of whether you bring a Sardine or not, the Emperor will present you with a gift that will accompany you in Latium.
Choose To Bring Sardines In Anno 117 Pax Romana
If you choose to bring Sardines to the meal with the Emperor and Empress, the game will immediately hint that the fish has an “invigorating smell.” After arriving at the palace, Empress Julia will comment on the smell, and her reaction will differ based on who you’re playing as in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
When playing as Marcus, she will simply chuckle and send the Sardines to the kitchen, but if you choose Marcia, she will be more concerned, thinking the governor’s wife is being mistreated in Juliana.
Choose To Just Take Yourself In Anno 117 Pax Romana
If you choose to just take yourself, Empress Julia will not comment on anything. Your character will simply apologize for not bringing a gift. From here on, the narrative will continue normally, so there are no consequences for not bringing anything to the imperial invitation.
