Swiggy, a leading food delivery service, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Labour & Employment to generate more than 1.2 million job opportunities in the gig and logistics sectors within the next two to three years via the National Career Service (NCS) portal.
The company intends to incorporate real-time listings for gig and delivery positions into the NCS portal using API-based systems, enhancing visibility and application tracking for job seekers while promoting inclusive hiring practices, especially for youth and women.

The agreement was formalized in the presence of Labor Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, aims at establishing gig economy jobs and strengthening employment connections. Dr. Mandaviya remarked on the MOU, highlighting the mutual advantages: “Swiggy will have access to a diverse, job-ready talent pool, while countless job seekers will gain from verified, hyperlocal employment opportunities.”
Dinker Vashisht, Swiggy’s chief of corporate affairs, expressed his support for the partnership, stating, “This MOU exemplifies how digital entrepreneurship and public-private collaborations can foster inclusive growth in the modern economy.”
Additionally, the agreement promotes structured onboarding, digital empowerment, and awareness of worker welfare initiatives. It is part of a larger government strategy to work with private-sector employers and gig platforms to improve job facilitation throughout India.
