Power Rangers is one of the most popular superhero shows in modern history. Aside from the Red Ranger, the Blue Ranger is typically a fan favorite in every series. Blue Rangers are usually nerdy and technology-focused, but this isn’t always the case. There have been several Blue Rangers who stand out compared to their companions for one epic reason or another.

Koda, The Blue Dino Charger, is one of the most popular modern Rangers, but Koda’s popularity is because he fails to fit into the typical Blue Ranger formula. In contrast, several Blue Rangers have become popular because they are iconic callbacks to the original. Nevertheless, when it comes to Blue Power Rangers some are certainly better than others.

Noah Carver Is an Amalgamation Of Every Popular Blue Ranger Trope

    Power Rangers: Megaforce

Noah Carver Power Rangers Megaforce Image via Hasbro

Noah Carver is an especially powerful Blue Ranger, but his personality is nothing more than an amalgamation of previous rangers. His shark motif and design are decidedly cool, but they aren’t given enough attention due to Megaforce‘s main gimmick. Power Rangers Megaforce provides its Rangers with the ability to transform into rangers of the past. Most of Noah’s coolest moments have fans wishing he was a different Ranger from the past.

Black Power Ranger in Space, MMPR Black Ranger, Black Wild Force Ranger in Power Rangers

Power Rangers: 10 Best Black Rangers, Ranked

The Black Rangers typically serve as the Red Rangers’ second-in-command and are often one of the most popular rangers of any given series.

Carver has a semblance of Billy Cranston’s brains, but lacks Billy’s endearing attitude. That said, he has access to some of the coolest powers in the Megaforce series. Megaforce wasn’t well received compared to many previous Super Sentai adaptations, but many fans agree that the Gosei Shark Zord is among the coolest in the franchise. If only Noah’s epic powers had been given to a more interesting character.

    9

Kevin Is an Utterly Rigid Rule Follower, Who Learns to Let Loose

    Power Rangers: Samurai

Kevin Power Rangers Samurai Image via Hasbro

Kevin is the Samurai Rangers’ second-in-command, widely remembered for his rigid rule following. He gives up his Olympic dreams to join the Power Rangers, but rarely falters in his assigned duty. Due to intense parental pressures, Kevin feels a need to succeed similar to other members of the Samurai team. Thankfully, several of his companions, like Mike, allow the Ranger to cut loose now and again.

SPD Red Power Ranger, Mighty Morphin Red Ranger, Jungle Fury Reg Ranger in Power Rangers

10 Best Red Power Rangers, Ranked

The Red Rangers are usually the strongest and most capable members of every Power Rangers team, but that isn’t always the case.

As is the case with many Blue Rangers, Kevin’s powers and Zords primarily share a water motif. His main Zord is the Dragon folding Zord, but he later catches and utilizes the Swordfish Zord. He uses these epic Zords in conjunction with his incredible fighting skills to become one of the most prominent Blue Rangers of the Saban-Era. Kevin might not initially know how to take a joke, but there’s no one better suited to be the Blue Samurai Ranger.

    8

Ethan James Is Modeled After the Original Mighty Morphin Blue Ranger

    Power Rangers: Dino Thunder

Ethan James Power Rangers Dino Thunder (1) Image via Hasbro

Power Rangers: Dino Thunder is meant to echo the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in many ways. Ethan is extremely similar to the character Billy Cranston, with a few key differences. Although they both share the same color and dinosaur motif, Kevin Duhaney really worked to give Ethan James his own identity. However, like Billy, Ethan is a pivotal figure to other iterations of the Power Rangers beyond his own.

James is largely credited with creating the technology and gear used by the S.P.D. Rangers in the future. This is a feat that rivals even Billy’s incredibly Morphing intellect. On top of his impressive brain, Ethan is no slouch when it comes to combat. He uses his Triceratops related powers to great effect, and is one of the most popular Rangers of the early-2000s era. While many are quick to call him a copy of the original Blue, he is far more unique than other Rangers in a similar position.

    7

Theo Martin Is Sometimes Arrogant, But Also Has the Skills to Back it Up

    Power Rangers: Jungle Fury

    Theo Martin in Power Rangers

Theo begins his Power Rangers journey as an arrogant rule follower, with intense Martial Arts skills. He uses his Jaguar spirit animal to enhance his attacks and power his Ranger morpher. Eventually, through his acceptance of Casey as the Red Ranger, Theo gets over his arrogance and his true personality shines through. One of the main sub-plots of the Jungle Fury iteration follows Theo’s crush on fellow ranger Lilly Chillman.

Although the plotline wouldn’t resolve until almost the final episodes, it has become one of the most popular romances of the 2000s era Power Rangers. Nonetheless, even though Theo doesn’t lead the team, he often acts as its brains. He is an expert strategist, but often times has trouble deviating from the original plan. Nevertheless, he is one of the most powerful Blue Rangers from the early-200s era of the show.

    6

Koda Is One of the Most Popular Modern Rangers in the Franchise

    Power Rangers: Dino Charge

Koda Power Rangers Dino Charge Image via Hasbro

Koda is one of the most interesting Rangers in history. He is one of the only characters that has appeared in both Super Sentai and Power Rangers. On top of being a former Super Sentai actor, he portrayed one of the most popular Blue Rangers in recent years. The latest versions of the franchise haven’t been extremely well received, but that hasn’t stopped Koda from rising in popularity.

Koda is actually a prehistoric caveman, brought to the modern world after being frozen in ice for several centuries. He doesn’t have any modern knowledge, but he possesses extremely powerful instincts. Koda’s portrayal is a decidedly different take on the Blue Ranger that has ultimately found a lot of success. He isn’t at all what fans are used to and that’s a major part of Koda’s charm.

Rocky DeSantos Is the Second-In-Command to the Amazing Tommy Oliver

    Power Rangers: Zeo

    Rocky DeSantos in Power Rangers

Rocky DeSantos started his career as a Red Ranger, but still remained Tommy Oliver’s second-in-command. When the Mighty Morphin Rangers utilize the Zeo Crystals to become the Zeo Rangers, DeSantos would become the Blue Zeo Ranger. This would allow Rocky to wear a color more fitting to his rank, while allowing him to resonate more with fans.

As the Red Morphin Ranger, Rocky was consistently compared to Jason Lee Scott. As the Blue Zeo Ranger, DeSantos could be his own person and create feats that wouldn’t be confused with his more popular predecessor. As the Blue Zeo Ranger, he pilots the Sphinx Zord, as well as the Super Zeo Zord III. These Zords might not have been popular in their time, but if they were brought to the modern franchise they would find great success.

    4

Flynn McAllistair Became Popular Due to His Incredible Personality

    Power Rangers: RPM

RPM Blue Ranger Image via Hasbro

Flynn McAllistair is a popular Blue Ranger, who gained even more notoriety due to his brief meme status. Aside from his relative infamy, McAllistair is well liked for his engaging personality and his huge sense of empathy. He also has one of the most powerful abilities of any Ranger in the franchise, the power to stop time.

The series decidedly chose to limit his use of the ability due to its overpowered nature, but its existence alone implies Flynn is one of the most powerful rangers ever. He has always dreamed of being a superhero, which finally comes true once he becomes a Power Ranger. His father might initially oppose his new and dangerous role, but quickly comes around when he sees the good that Flynn is doing.

    3

Sky Tate Is One of the Most Dedicated Rangers in History

    Power Rangers: S.P.D.

    Sky Tate in Power Rangers

Sky Tate’s main goal in life is to become the Red Ranger like his father. This does not initially happen, and he is forced to take on the role of the Blue S.P.D. Ranger. Tate is initially hesitant, but concedes to Anubis Cruger’s orders and rises to the occasion. He is one of the most passionate Rangers in the history of the franchise, and eventually gets his wish of becoming the Red Ranger after Emperor Grumm’s defeat.

10 Strongest Villains In Power Rangers History, Ranked

10 Strongest Villains In Power Rangers History, Ranked

The Power Rangers have faced some fearsome foes over the course of the franchise, but these are by far the most formidable.

Tate has one of the most compelling stories out of any Blue Ranger, and eventually proves his is worthy of accomplishing his dreams. Sky would even become the S.P.D. Deka Ranger, taking over command of the S.P.D. Earth Base for Anubis Crueger. Although Tate often lets his personal feelings get in the way of duty, he is quick to center himself and rise to the task. Through Crueger’s lessons and his interactions with the team, he was able to ascend to a level not even he had dreamed of.

    2

T.J. Johnson Has Done Incredible Things as Both a Leader and a Follower

    Power Rangers: In Space

T.J. Johnson Power Rangers in Space Image via Hasbro

T.J. Johnson has done some incredible things, both as a leader and a follower. He begins his career as the Red Turbo Ranger, but quickly defers his leadership to Andros once the Power Rangers go to space. This indicates Johnson’s flexibility and his willingness to change. He is also one of the few Rangers to hold the title of both Red and Blue.

    Best-Power-Rangers-Series,-Ranked

    Best Power Rangers Series, Ranked

From the Mighty Morphin to Ninjas and Samurai, the best Power Rangers seasons offer great mecha action and awesome characters,

Johnson serves as the last remnant of one of the most popular eras in the Power Rangers. The relinquishing of his title is decidedly emblematic. Johnson of the older generation plays second-in-command to Andros, who essentially reboots the franchise at the end of the iteration. If Johnson had been the one to release the “Z-Wave” the moment would’ve felt stuck in the past instead of looking to the future.

    1

Billy Cranston Is The Greatest Blue Ranger Of All Time

    Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

    Billy Cranston in Power Rangers

Billy Cranston is one of the smartest Power Rangers and the most popular of the Blue Rangers. He is the original and only Mighty Morphin Blue Ranger who set many of the precedents that future Rangers would be forced to follow. Aside from his integral intellect, the Ranger is decidedly brave despite his more nerdy disposition. Even after his official tenure as the Blue Rangers finished, he helps the team by creating new gear and morphin tech to help them in the field.

Without Cranston, it’s fair to say that many of the Power Rangers’ biggest advancements simply wouldn’t have happened. He is the first to prove that humans have the intelligence to tinker with the morphin grid, and ensures the Rangers will only grow stronger with time. If Cranston had access to some of the technology modern Rangers do, he might have beaten Rita Repulsa alone with one of his latest and greatest inventions.
