The Finger of God is a quest that takes place towards the end of the first act in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The quest takes Henry through a new weapon tutorial and a battle as he and Hans are set free in Nebakov after the attack on the fortress for Otto von Bergow. The bandits they had been working against have become unlikely allies along with their friend Godwin, and now they must plan their next move.
While the quest starts with simple tasks around the settlement, it ends in an arduous fight against von Bergow and his allies. This guide walks players through everything they must do to complete The Finger of God main story quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

The Finger of God Quest Walkthrough
The Finger of God starts with Godwin offering to help Jan Zizka with his eye, and Hans and Henry are told they should get some rest before von Bergow comes to kick them out of Nebakov. However, before Henry can rest, he must complete a few tasks.
Bury the Dead
First, Henry will follow Godwin so they can dig graves and bury a few people killed in the battle. Henry and Godwin will catch up during this time, and there are several chances to gain Reputation with him. There are three bodies to bury, and once that is finished, Henry must speak to Godwin again.
Select “Are we finished?” and Godwin will mention he needs to show Henry something important down near the castle moat. Players will see Hertel standing beside a table with several objects, including a pistole.
Learn to Shoot a Hand Cannon
The next part of the quest has Henry using a hand cannon or the medieval version of a firearm. Hertel will explain to Henry how they work, and then he and Godwin will get a chance to test them out.
Hand cannons are ranged weapons in KCD2 that deal significant damage. The only downside is that loading them is slow, and aiming uses lots of Stamina. Players are better off using them at the beginning of combat and then switching to their melee or when they are going against one person.
After Godwin and Henry finish target practice, Hertel gives him the pistole and some lead balls to load into it. Players can buy other types of guns and ammo when they get to the second map in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Try to Get New Allies (Optional Tasks)
Players can also complete optional tasks to do favors with people. These include the following:
Hans Capon – Dice
Play a round of dice with Hans. There is a Painted Die at the western part of the fortress that players can use to give them an edge if they don’t have any special dice.
Klara – Treat the Wounded
If Henry talks to Klara, he can offer to help her take care of wounded men from the battle. Players will find three wounded men at the far end of Nebakov. Henry must talk to the men and treat their wounds using bandages, liquor, and potions. There will be Survival, Alchemy, and Craftsmanship checks for each wound to see if Henry can figure out what needs to be healed.
Hired Hand Bluster – Load the Cart
Bluster is a hired hand found near the stables. He is rude to Henry until he offers to help him load five sacks onto the cart next to him.
Groom Peltzel – Make Horseshoes
Groom Peltzel is outside the horse stables. Players will recognize him from the main quest, Back in the Saddle. Henry will be tasked with making three sets of horseshoes. Peltzel will give Henry several rewards for completing the task, including:
- Cockerel
- Lead Balls
- Groschen
Blacksmith Bull – Sharpen Weapons
While in the Smithy, players can talk to Bull to get an additional task. He needs assistance sharpening weapons using the Sharpening Wheel since his brother and helper died during the fight. The weapons are in a barrel in the corner of the Smithy, and he will reward Henry with ammo for the trouble.

Go To Bed
Henry can go to bed once he is finished with all his tasks. His bed is inside the cabin where Klara hangs out.
Henry will go to sleep, but he has a terrible nightmare about his parents and their killers.
Defend the Fortress
Henry’s sleep is interrupted by the commotion of men getting ready for battle as Otto von Bergow shows up for vengeance. Henry and the rest of the bandits inside the settlement must protect it from the attacking forces. They are severely outnumbered as Otto von Bergow is working with Sir Markvart, who pulls up with the Prague Militia.
If players successfully healed the soldiers for Klara the previous night, Zizka will ask Henry where to send them. He can choose the following places:
Henry will start the fight on the battlements and must knock down any ladders placed on the walls using a halberd weapon. Then, players can join Hans in protecting the gate. They can drop rocks from a hole in the floor to prevent enemies from breaking through the gate.
Watch out for enemies shooting arrows and hand cannons through the windows.
Finally, Henry will follow Zizka into the tower with Godwin and Hans. There, they will all discover a dangerous weapon known as the Finger of God. The Finger of God is a large cannon. As it rips through the tower, Henry and his allies are trapped and knocked unconscious. Otto von Begow captures them and takes Hans with him, leaving everyone else under Istvan Toth’s control.
