One of the biggest advantages of electric cars is that they can power things without spitting out nasty fumes. Their huge high-voltage batteries can send power to just about any outlet imaginable–from a traditional 12-volt socket to an electrical panel that feeds an entire house.
They’re huge batteries on wheels, and more and more automakers are taking advantage of this by offering what’s called vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality. In plain English, this means people can simply plug in electrical equipment into a household socket inside or outside the car to power things like a refrigerator, tools or camping equipment.
This is different from vehicle-to-home (V2H), which integrates the car’s battery into a house’s electrical system via a bidirectional charger. It’s also different from vehicle-to-grid (V2G), which can send power from the battery to the grid via an inverter.
Having AC outlets isn’t anything new–some gas-powered cars also come with them–but having a lot of power at your fingertips without needing to run an engine is only possible with an EV.
So we thought it would be a good idea to round up all the EVs that are offered with AC outlets in the United States. Who knows, maybe it will help you decide on your next car purchase.

Acura ZDX and Honda Prologue
Both EVs are based on General Motors’ Ultium platform, which underpins the Chevrolet Blazer EV. That said, the Blazer EV doesn’t offer any 110- or 120-volt outlets, whereas the Acura ZDX and Honda Prologue come with a 110-volt, 150-watt outlet located in the rear passenger area of the cabin.

Cadillac Escalade IQ
Cadillac’s huge electric SUV can be had with up to three household outlets with a combined output of up to 400 W. The Escalade IQ is also compatible with GM’s Energy PowerShift Charger and the GM Energy Vehicle-to-Home Enablement Kit that allows owners to power their house in an outage.

Cadillac Lyriq
GM’s luxury mid-size electric crossover has one 110-volt outlet with a maximum output of 150 W. Like the Escalade IQ, it’s compatible with GM’s vehicle-to-home equipment.

Cadillac Vistiq
The Lyriq’s smaller brother has one 110-volt outlet with a maximum output of 150 W. It’s also compatible with the GM Energy PowerShift Charger and the GM Energy Vehicle-to-Home Enablement Kit.
The Cadillac Optiq, Chevrolet Blazer EV and Chevrolet Equinox EV don’t offer V2L, but they are compatible with V2H when connected to a house through GM’s Energy PowerShift Charger and the GM Energy Vehicle-to-Home Enablement Kit. Additionally, some GM EVs are compatible with an accessory called the GM Power Bar, which plugs into the charging port and exports up to 3 kW of power from the main battery.

Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 and BrightDrop 600
Chevrolet’s electric delivery vans come with two 110-volt outlets with a combined output of 400 W.

Chevrolet Silverado EV
The big electric pickup can deliver a massive 7.2 kW of power through up to five household outlets and a 240-volt port in the bed. It can also power an entire house when paired with the GM Energy PowerShift Charger and the GM Energy Vehicle-to-Home Enablement Kit.

Ford F-150 Lightning
When equipped properly, the Pro Power OnBoard system can offer up to 11 household outlets with a combined output of up to 9.6 kW. The Lightning can also power an entire house through V2H, but owners need the Ford Charge Station Pro and Home Integration System.

Ford E-Transit
Ford’s electric van can deliver up to 2.4 kW through a pair of outlets in the back of the cargo area.

GMC Hummer EV
Despite it sharing many components with the Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV, the Hummer EV has just two 110-volt outlets with a combined output of 400 W. That said, the Hummer EV is compatible with GM’s vehicle-to-home hardware.

GMC Sierra EV
Similar to the Chevy Silverado EV, the Sierra EV can output up to 7.2 kW through up to five household outlets and a generator output. The Sierra EV is also compatible with GM’s vehicle-to-home hardware.
Hyundai, Kia and Genesis EVs
Almost all EVs made by the Hyundai Motor Group can deliver between 1.9 kW and 3.6 kW of power through an optional V2L adapter that goes into the charge port. These include Hyundai’s Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 9, Kia’s EV6 and EV9, as well as Genesis’ GV60 and Electrified GV70. Most of these models also have a power outlet somewhere inside, whether in the trunk or under the rear bench cushion.

Porsche Macan Electric
Porsche’s second mass-market EV has one 110-volt, 150 W outlet in the trunk. The Taycan does not have any household outlets.
Rivian R1T and R1S
Rivian’s electric pickup has three 120-volt outlets with a shared output of 1,500 W, while the R1S has two 120-volt outlets with the same total output.

Tesla Cybertruck
The Cybertruck is Tesla’s first model capable of exporting power from its battery, with up to 9.6 kW of combined power going through five household outlets. Alternatively, the PowerShare adapter that plugs into the Gen3 Mobile Charger can output power directly from the charging port for appliances and tools.
