Uber, in collaboration with Refex Green Mobility, has announced its intention to deploy 1,000 electric four-wheel vehicles on the Uber platform in key Indian cities, including Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, as part of its initiative to electrify urban transportation by 2026.
Refex Green Mobility Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Refex Industries Limited based in Chennai, operates under the brand name Refex eVeelz. In discussing the partnership, Aditya Kapoor, Head of Supply and Electrification for Uber India and South Asia, stated, “Uber is dedicated to promoting the transition to zero-emission mobility in India, and this collaboration with Refex eVeelz represents a crucial advancement in that effort..”

Sachin Navtosh Jha, Chief of Staff at Refex Group, remarked, “As a company focused on advancing sustainable mobility, we are honored to partner with Uber to offer electric solutions to additional cities in India. This collaboration, alongside our existing B2B and B2C operations featuring nearly 1,300 company-owned electric four-wheelers, will aid in reducing urban carbon emissions and contribute significantly to achieving India’s broader sustainability objectives.”
As part of its extensive electrification strategy, Uber has introduced Uber Green in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata. This service allows passengers to request an all-electric vehicle with zero tailpipe emissions, offering an on-demand electric vehicle experience with just a few taps on the app. Uber Green is currently the most widely accessible on-demand mobility solution for low or no-emission rides globally, available in over 100 cities across 15 countries. Through this partnership, Uber and Refex eVeelz aim to make substantial progress in expanding electric mobility options.
