HARYANA, June 11, 2025: In a significant step forward in its expansion, Tier 1 component manufacturer Uno Minda officially opened its new, cutting-edge two-wheeler lighting manufacturing facility at Kharkhoda, Haryana.
The new facility consolidates operations from its earlier twin locations in Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, bringing the entire 2W lighting production under one roof for greater efficiency and scale.

Senior executives from prominent automakers were present at the inauguration ceremony, including Hero MotoCorp, BMW Motorrad, Harley-Davidson, and Triumph Motors.
Senior top executives were also in attendance, including Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India, and Mikio Uchiyama, President & CEO, Honda R&D (India).
Along with Vineet Mishra, Executive Officer – Purchase, Suzuki Motorcycle India, Yuichi Akita, and Sanjeev Jain from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India’s purchasing team were also present, highlighting the facility’s significance for Uno Minda’s customer ecosystem.

Vivek Jindal, Director & CEO of Uno Minda Ltd., spoke at the event and thanked HSIIDC, government agencies, and his team for helping to make the project a reality. “Together, let’s light the way forward—where lighting goes beyond visibility to become a bold expression of every rider’s identity,” he said.
Serving practically all of the major motorcycle and scooter OEMs, Uno Minda is one of India’s top providers of automotive lighting solutions for two-wheelers. The company’s 2W lighting line consists of headlamps, tail lamps, blinkers, auxiliary lamps, and cutting-edge LED-based systems made to satisfy changing industry requirements for rider safety, energy efficiency, and aesthetics.
Uno Minda has been expanding its R&D and manufacturing capabilities as the Indian two-wheeler industry moves more and more towards LED lighting for improved efficiency and aesthetic appeal. In order to meet the increasing demand from customers, increase cost effectiveness, and solidify its position as the industry leader, the company is consolidating its 2W lighting production at Kharkhoda.
It is anticipated that the new facility will be essential to OEM partners’ future product pipelines, particularly as demand for upscale, aesthetically pleasing lighting systems is driven by premium motorcycles and scooters.
The new Kharkhoda plant, which is anticipated to start operations by Q4 FY2026- 27, is intended to increase operational efficiency while meeting the increasing demand from top OEMs.
