    Summary

    • Deidara’s artistic pride leads to crucial mistakes in battle against Sasuke.
    • Hidan must remain within a Seal Circle for Death Ceremony attack to work.
    • Gaara’s reliance on sand armor exposes his vulnerability to fast opponents like Rock Lee.

In a world where most ninja have a plethora of hidden Jutsu techniques hidden up their sleeves, finding a weakness can often be tricky. However, this doesn’t always need to be the case, as throughout the highly popular series of Naruto, there have still been a handful of antagonists who aren’t shy about exposing their vulnerabilities to their opponents, giving Naruto and the others an opportunity to counter them in battle.

Naruto: 23 Powerful Quotes By Itachi Uchiha

Itachi Uchiha from Naruto has spoken many great words of wisdom during his appearances in the series. Here are his most inspiring quotes.

Sometimes, a weakness can be easily gleaned just by looking at someone, but it can also become revealed in the middle of an intense fight when the opponent is pushed to their limit and begins making mistakes. Either way, it’s time to look at the villains seen in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden who possess some of the biggest and most obvious weaknesses, which played a big part in their eventual defeat.

    6

    Deidara

Deidara’s Artistic Pride Often Causes Him To Make Crucial Mistakes

    • First Appearance: Shippuden Episode 2

As an artist, it makes sense that Deidara would take great pride in his living clay sculptures, but this can often backfire on him, as seen in his epic battle with Sasuke. Because Deidara was so sure that Sasuke wouldn’t be able to handle his clay explosives, he pretty much abandoned any kind of strategy from the get-go, giving the dangerous Uchiha the opportunity to outmaneuver his opponent before taking him down for good.

This would actually lead to Deidara’s demise once he activates the C0 bomb, sacrificing himself in one final dazzling artistic spectacle. Once Deidara starts getting a little too excited, his personal hobby and obsession can become a huge detriment to him while in combat.

    5

    Hidan

Hidan, A Devout Follower Of Jashin, Must Remain With His Seal For His Death Ceremony To Work

    • First Appearance: Episode 71

Considering Hidan is literally immortal, killing him simply isn’t an option, but there is at least one weakness he has, which can throw him off his game. Hidan’s main form of attack is the Death Ceremony, which allows him to control the bodies of the people whose blood he has consumed. Hidan feels no pain when this is going on, meaning if he cuts himself or is damaged in any way, the target will feel the pain, not him.

Some of the best jutsu in Naruto can be witnessed in the following arcs.

Hidan heavily relies on this ability when facing tough opponents, but for it to work, he needs to stand within his Seal Circle, which is visible in bright red blood on the floor. Shikamaru quickly realizes that using a possession-style Jutsu to push Hidan out of the circle will prevent him from turning into a voodoo master, ensuring he can’t fight at his full power, and though this isn’t always easy to do, it’s still a strategy any of Hidan’s opponents can follow in order to weaken him.

    4

    Itachi Uchiha

Itachi’s Illness Slowed him Down A Lot In The Main Series

    • First Appearance: Episode 81

Despite still being one of the strongest members of the Akatsuki in the main series, Itachi isn’t exactly firing on all cylinders. It’s confirmed in Shippuden that Itachi has been suffering from an unknown illness which has been ravaging his body, limiting his power and speed considerably, which is arguably why Sasuke was able to best him in their inevitable clash.

Another weakness, which is honestly more of a double-edged sword, is Itachi’s Mangekyo Sharingan. On the one hand, Itachi can throw out plenty of deadly techniques without even moving a muscle, including terrifying Genjutsu attacks like the Tsukuyomi used on Kakashi, but his over-reliance on his eyes only worsens his vision over time.

    3

    Haku

Haku Lacks The Self-Confidence To Continue Pushing Forward In A Fight

    • First Appearance: Episode 9

Haku is utterly devoted to Zabuza, so much so that he even admits he simply sees himself as a tool to serve him. Though Haku is a very formidable fighter who was able to use his Ice Mirrors to deal some significant damage to Naruto and Sasuke, once he is apprehended by the power of the Nine Tails, he begs Naruto to finish him off.

Haku’s self-confidence is so low that he doesn’t possess the same burning fire to keep on fighting like Naruto does, and it can be used against him by an opponent who pays close attention to Haku’s relationship with his mentor and friend, Zabuza. It wasn’t easy, but Haku was eventually taken down by Squad 7 after they demoralized him and inflicted enough damage.

    2

    Sasori

Without His Puppets To Protect Him, Sasori Struggles At Close Range

    • First Appearance: Shippuden Episode 2

When Sasori shows up near the beginning of Shippuden, he manages to put up a pretty formidable fight against Chiyo and Sakura, though it quickly becomes clear that he’s not much of a close-range fighter. Sasori uses his puppets to attack his opponents from a safe distance while he mocks the enemy with verbal jabs from afar, and while it’s difficult getting past his loyal servants, taking them down leaves Sasori completely vulnerable.

Naruto’s massive cast of characters can make it hard for some to stand out, but these characters became anime icons for being consistently lovable.

Unlike many of his fellow Akatsuki comrades, Sasori struggles to hold his own in a fist fight, meaning someone as absurdly powerful as Sakura can easily overpower him when his defenses are down.

    1

    Gaara

The Murderous Jinchuriki Relies On His Sand Armor A Bit Too Much

    • First Appearance: Episode 20

This specifically refers to Gaara in the first half of part 1 when he was still presented as a straight-up serial killer who was more than willing to murder anyone who stood in his way. The reason Gaara was able to overwhelm his opponents so easily was through his sand, which he was able to manipulate thanks to the power granted to him by the underlying Tailed Beast Shukaku.

However, during the Chunin Exams, Rock Lee cracked the code after realizing that Gaara’s sand took a few seconds to catch up to him in order to fend off attacks. By speeding himself up after dropping the weights, Lee was able to outmaneuver Gaara, and even in Shippuden, Gaara’s reliance on sand still stood as his most obvious weakness, which has been exposed numerous times.
