NEW DELHI, June 23rd, 2025— Vietnam’s VinFast is intensifying its efforts to enter the Indian electric vehicle market by showcasing its VF 7 and VF 6 electric SUVs at major shopping centres across 11 Indian cities. This initiative marks the first large-scale public engagement for these models since their debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year.
Bringing EVs to the Public
Starting June 21, VinFast’s electric vehicles will be on display in high-traffic malls in key urban areas, allowing Indian consumers to get a closer look at the Vietnamese carmaker’s premium offerings. For VinFast, this move is not just about exposure; it is also about brand positioning—providing potential buyers with a hands-on introduction to its unique design, advanced features, and technology-driven interiors.
The VF 7 features what VinFast describes as an “Asymmetric Aerospace” aesthetic, while the VF 6 is shaped by the philosophy of “Dualities in Nature”. Both models are aimed at young, urban, environmentally conscious buyers seeking premium electric SUVs with distinctive styling and technology. They include the brand’s signature V-shaped LED light feature, expansive panoramic sunroofs, driver-centric cockpits, and large infotainment displays accompanied by advanced driver-assistance systems.
“We’re excited to bring the VF 7 and VF 6 closer to Indian consumers after their positive reception at the Bharat Mobility Expo,” said Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia. “These showcases are more than just exhibits—they are an invitation to experience the future of sustainable mobility firsthand.”
A Focus on Premium, Youth-Oriented EVs
For VinFast, which is still relatively unknown in India’s automotive sector, this move represents a strategic bet on early visibility and brand development. By positioning itself in popular malls, from Gurugram’s Ambience Mall to Bengaluru’s Lulu Mall, the company is targeting the aspirational middle class and Gen Z buyers who are driving India’s EV growth.
As India’s electric SUV segment becomes increasingly competitive, VinFast is banking on its memorable design, premium technology, and direct consumer engagement to carve out a niche in a crowded market already populated by homegrown brands like Tata Motors and Mahindra, as well as global players such as Hyundai and MG.
Though the VF 7 and VF 6 are newcomers, VinFast is taking a long-term approach, supported by infrastructure, manufacturing capabilities, and an awareness of India’s growing demand for premium electric vehicles.
