Vivo has increased prices across a significant chunk of its smartphone lineup in India, and this isn’t the first time it’s done so this year. Nine models across the X, V, Y, and T series have all gone up, with hikes ranging from Rs. 2,000 on the more affordable end to Rs. 7,000 on the X300 FE.

The timing fits a wider industry pattern, with rising memory chip costs forcing multiple brands to revise pricing upward throughout 2026.

Vivo Hikes Smartphone Prices in India by Up to Rs. 7,000

    The Full Price Breakdown

The steepest hike is on the X300 FE, Vivo’s compact flagship running the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The 12GB/256GB variant moves from Rs. 79,999 to Rs. 86,999, and the 12GB/512GB variant from Rs. 89,999 to Rs. 96,999, a Rs. 7,000 jump on both.

The V70 FE, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360, sees increases of Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 5,000. The 8GB/128GB goes from Rs. 37,999 to Rs. 41,999, the 8GB/256GB from Rs. 40,999 to Rs. 45,999, and the 12GB/256GB from Rs. 42,999 to Rs. 46,999.

    Price hike alert 🚨
Vivo increases their smartphone prices by upto whopping ₹7k:

    X300 FE (SD 8 Gen 5):
    • 12/256GB: ₹79,999 → ₹86,999
    • 12/512GB: ₹89,999 → ₹96,999

    V70 FE (MTK 7360):

The Y51 Pro, also on the Dimensity 7360, gets a flat Rs. 3,000 hike. The 8GB/128GB moves from Rs. 27,999 to Rs. 30,999, and the 8GB/256GB from Rs. 30,999 to Rs. 33,999.

The Y31 5G on Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 goes up by Rs. 2,000 on both variants, with the 6GB/128GB moving to Rs. 25,999 and the 6GB/256GB to Rs. 28,999.

The T4 Lite 5G, running MediaTek Dimensity 6300, sees a Rs. 4,000 jump on both variants. The 6GB/128GB moves from Rs. 14,999 to Rs. 18,999, and the 8GB/128GB from Rs. 16,999 to Rs. 20,999, effectively pushing both above the Rs. 18,000 mark.

The T5x gets a Rs. 2,000 hike across all three variants. Worth noting, it launched in March 2026, meaning prices have now climbed Rs. 6,000 since launch in just a few months.

The Y21 on Dimensity 6300 goes up by Rs. 2,000 per variant, the Y11 by Rs. 2,000, and the Y05, running UniSoC T7225, moves from Rs. 12,999 to Rs. 14,999.

    Why Prices Are Going Up

Vivo hasn’t publicly stated a reason, but the cause isn’t hard to find. Memory chip manufacturers have been redirecting production capacity toward high-bandwidth memory used in AI data centres, which has squeezed supply for consumer devices and driven up the cost of the DRAM and NAND that go inside every smartphone.

Counterpoint Research estimates the bill-of-materials cost for low-end phones has already risen by roughly 25 percent in 2026, with mid-range and flagship devices facing 10 to 15 percent component cost inflation.

Vivo is not alone here: Samsung, OPPO, Realme, and several other brands have all made similar adjustments this year.
