    Summary

    • Warzone patched out Snakeshot ammo due to player frustration with the overpowering Basilisk meta.
    • The update also reintroduced the Bunker Buster killstreak and adjusted buy stations for Trios.
    • The patch addressed glitches allowing peeking through objects, with promises for upcoming meta fixes.

Call of Duty: Warzone has released a patch that disables the controversial Snakeshot ammunition while reintroducing the Bunker Buster killstreak in Resurgence and Plunder. The update was implemented on Monday, April 7, seemingly aimed at balancing the gameplay after Call of Duty: Warzone players expressed frustration with the new Basilisk meta, which many claimed was overpowered.

Warzone‘s Akimbo Snakeshot build allowed players to dual-wield Basilisk handguns, creating a lethal combo that could drop enemies at close range with only one or two shots. Just hours before Call of Duty removed the Snakeshot, players started sharing clips of their kill streaks with it, some racking up over 40 kills in a single match. Those show-off posts, combined with the wave of complaints from players, were likely the telltale signs to the devs that something was off with the attachment. And now, it looks like they’ve stepped in.

Call of Duty: Warzone Making Changes to Armor Plate

The Call of Duty: Warzone development team, Raven Software, announces upcoming changes to armor plates in the battle royale game.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s April 7 patch disabled both the Snakeshot ammunition and the Thermal 6x Scope. It also adjusted the number of static buy stations in Battle Royale Trios to match those in other squad sizes. As for the disabled items, the official Call of Duty Updates Twitter account states they have been temporarily removed while the team investigates some issues. Still, players shouldn’t be surprised if both come back nerfed. This wouldn’t be the first time Warzone’s Snakeshot has been toned down either, as it’s been disrupting the meta since its debut.

Verdansk’s return to Warzone has received positive feedback from the fan base, drawing many players back just to revisit the iconic map. According to SteamDB charts, the game’s player count has jumped by nearly 65% since March, showing just how much of a boost the map has provided. However, the launch hasn’t been without issues. Alongside meta-breaking attachments like the Snakeshot ammunition, players have also been dealing with a wave of bugs and glitches.

One frustrating glitch in Warzone’s Verdansk involved exploitable objects that let players peek or even shoot through them. Fortunately, this has been addressed in the latest patch, with more fixes likely on the way. One update the community is still waiting on is a nerf to the Terminator skin, which has faced criticism since its launch. On the bright side, the devs have finally acknowledged the issue and promised a “visibility adjustment” to make it easier for players to spot or, as the development team puts it, enhance the skin’s “target identification” rate.
