Most car buyers expect a few bells and whistles. But not two sunroofs, tri-directional brake lights and backseat USB-C ports on both sides. The 2025 Kia EV9 isn’t just another family EV. It’s a tech showcase that’s making waves on TikTok.

Saghar (@soldbysaghar), an auto sales associate based in Ontario, Canada, provides a detailed visual rundown of the Kia EV that’s trying to set itself apart as an option for premium purchasers. Labeling an interior passenger seat perspective as showing a “princess view” is a clear attempt to class up the vehicle and its many attractive features.

The slideshow clip guides viewers through a surprising array of features that position the EV9 as a serious contender in the growing three-row electric SUV segment. From the outside, design cues such as star map LED headlights and 21-inch wheels give the SUV a futuristic, upscale vibe that sets it apart from the more understated profiles of rivals like the Volvo EX90 or the Hyundai Ioniq 7. But it’s once inside the vehicle that the EV9 begins to flex.

The walkthrough begins with a showcase of the dual sunroof setup: one for the front passengers and another for those in the second row. Saghar calls attention to a “tilting and sliding sunroof” as well, suggesting a premium touch that echoes designs typically found in vehicles priced tens of thousands of dollars higher. Kia refers to this configuration as its Panoramic Wide Display experience, which combines natural light, widescreen dash visuals, and a spacious cabin feel designed to enhance the driving experience. According to Kia’s own spec sheet, higher trims like the Land and GT-Line models include this sunroof configuration as standard.

Kia’s push to make EV interiors more luxurious and tech-forward is evident in what’s visible onscreen: a dual-display dashboard, two-tone leather seating, backseat USB-C charging on both sides and heating and ventilation not just for the front row but for passengers throughout the cabin. That latter detail is almost unheard of outside of ultra-premium brands.

    Practical Luxury in the Cabin

Beyond the tech dazzle, there’s a practical side to the EV9’s cabin that’s winning over early reviewers and buyers alike. One standout detail highlighted in the TikTok is the location of the gear selector, mounted on the steering column in a move that frees up space in the center console. This echoes a trend already seen in vehicles like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Tesla Model S, where cabin reconfiguration has opened up new possibilities for storage and accessibility.

The EV9 also features electronically folding second- and third-row seats, giving it a flexibility edge over some competitors like the Rivian R1S, which requires manual folding. With the seats down, Saghar shows off a surprisingly large cargo area, which includes a household-style 120V outlet, perfect for tailgating, powering tools, or charging gear while off-grid. This kind of outlet is quickly becoming an expected feature in high-end EVs—see the Hyundai Ioniq 5’s Vehicle to Load port and the Ford Lightning’s Pro Power Onboard system—and its inclusion here reinforces the EV9’s push into premium territory.

Also making an appearance in the walkthrough: a digital rearview mirror and a Meridian-branded sound system, part of a partnership that adds a layer of British audio pedigree to the Korean SUV. While true audiophiles might still lean toward custom systems, the Meridian offering is a notable upgrade over Kia’s standard fare.

EV9 Fits in a Crowded Market

Saghar’s video might be aimed at TikTok’s scroll-happy audience, but it indirectly underscores a deeper shift in how EVs are being marketed to American and Canadian families. The 2025 Kia EV9 is among the first mass-market three-row electric SUVs priced to undercut luxury rivals while offering comparable, and in some cases superior, features.

The 2025 EV9 lineup starts at around $56,000 for the rear-wheel-drive Light trim, with the dual-motor GT-Line AWD model climbing toward $74,000. Depending on configuration, buyers can expect between 230 and 304 miles of range per charge, according to EPA estimates. Kia’s use of the E-GMP platform, shared with the Hyundai Ioniq 5/6 and Genesis GV60, gives it access to 800V charging architecture, meaning a 10% to 80% charge in as little as 24 minutes at a compatible DC fast charger.

That makes the EV9 a rare blend of functionality, fast charging and luxury, especially when you consider it competes with the likes of the Tesla Model X, Rivian R1S, Mercedes EQS SUV and even the upcoming Chevrolet Equinox EV 3RS in terms of form factor and segment.
