Wuchang Fallen Feathers allows players to fast travel back and forth between areas via shrines, which makes backtracking to missed content a lot easier. However, once you’ve passed a certain point in the story, most of the areas with important questlines and items become inaccessible. The game also gives a subtle warning when this point approaches, but some players may not understand it and continue playing, only to find out they can’t backtrack to other areas of the game.

When Do You Reach the Point of No Return in Wuchang Fallen Feathers?
Players will reach the point of no return towards the end of the third region, Mt. Zhenwu in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. After dealing with the Fierce Tiger/Sovereign – Zhang Xianzhong, players will proceed forward to the area and meet the Storyteller sitting on a boundary wall near a cave. Once you talk to the Storyteller, he’ll say, “A power beyond your comprehension awaits. Go further and you may never return.”
At this point, players will get two dialog options: Continue forward or Let me weigh my choices. Choosing the former option will lead to another dialog option, which is basically a confirmation if players want to progress the story and go past the point of no return in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. After choosing the “I press ever onward” option, players will be teleported to the next major region of the game and won’t be able to access most of the previous regions.
Alternatively, players can choose to make a manual backup of their save files on their PC and go beyond the point of no return. This will allow players to revert their decision later on if they’ve missed something critical for the desired ending.
Should You Continue Forward or Weigh Your Choices in Wuchang Fallen Feathers?
Choosing to go past the point of no return or staying in Chapter 3 solely depends on how many secrets you’ve already discovered and questlines you’ve completed. Wuchang Fallen Feathers has a lot of NPCs with dedicated questlines that affect the ending of the game, and also help you get exclusive gear.
If you’re 100% sure that you’ve wrapped up everything in the previous area, choose the Continue Forward option to go past the point of no return, which will eventually lock players’ journey towards the end of the game.
However, if you still have questlines to complete and secrets to discover in the previous areas, it’s best to simply choose Let me Weigh my Options and go ahead and explore the rest of Mt. Zhenwu and previous locations.
