Battlefield 6 has made quite the mark since it debuted. Its inaugural season is quickly approaching, which will bring the first BF6 battle pass and new maps to keep players hooked on the military FPS. A battle royale experience is also around the corner, which could be particularly appealing to lapsed Call of Duty: Warzone fans seeking something that feels fresh. As Battlefield 6 continues to expand, players will be able to chip away at unlocking its Platinum Trophy — something that I’ve essentially speedrun in the game’s first few weeks of life. I only have one Trophy left to obtain that will come naturally through regular gameplay, and it’s one that I think really drives home just how great this achievement list is.
Collecting Trophies is nothing new for me, as it takes one look at my PSNProfile to see just how addicted I was to gathering them at one point. While I have slowed down significantly since reaching 50,000 total Trophies and well over 1,000 Platinums, two of my biggest goals, I still like to earn the Platinum for any game I truly love. Battlefield 6 fits that bill, as it might just be my favorite entry in the series since 2011’s Battlefield 3. Getting every achievement for the game has only made me appreciate the title more, as it pushes players to experience it to its fullest and encourages some good habits in multiplayer. Add on some funny achievement references, in-game rewards, and a simple workaround to any frustrating tasks, and even those who don’t care about Trophies can have a good time on their journey to 100%.
Battlefield 6’s Trophies Can Make You a Better Player
Selfishly, I’d love for more players to attempt the Platinum Trophy in Battlefield 6 purely because of the grindy “A Joyful Nurse” task, which requires 1996 revives. This nod to Pokemon’s Nurse Joy is one of many references in Battlefield 6’s Trophy list, but it’s also great motivation to be a useful support. There has been plenty of controversy about Battlefield newcomers like FaZe Swagg failing to go for the objective and playing selfishly, much to the chagrin of longtime fans of the series. PTFO is an essential element of Battlefield for franchise veterans, so newcomers should have that in mind as soon as they begin playing to avoid letting down their squadmates. Going for 1996 is a good way for players to do their part and will take a fair bit of time, though many will quickly find that being a useful medic can be just as satisfying as getting tons of kills.
Though the others are less of a grind, this isn’t the only Battlefield 6 Trophy that encourages team play. The following objectives also push gamers to PTFO in BF6:
- Wrench Monkey — Repair 2042 damage as an Engineer.
- Super Bomb man — Arm or disarm 5 M-COMs in Rush.
- Command and Conquest 2 — Capture 128 flags in Conquest.
- A Little C4 Knocking on Your Door — Deal 2000 damage to enemy vehicles with the Demolition Charge.
While Battlefield 6 is a fairly breezy 50-hour Platinum, there are a few tasks that could seem intimidating to lesser skilled players. These are “First Blood 2” for getting 10 melee takedowns in a single match, and “1200” for getting 6 pistol headshot eliminations in one match. Going for these two Trophies can be fun for those seeking a challenge, but as soon as players get tired of trying, they can use BF6’s bot lobbies as an optional “easy mode” for Trophy unlocks. Turning off cross-play is one way to get paired up with bots consistently, while another option is Battlefield 6’s Portal mode. Players being able to decide how difficult the multiplayer portion of the list is serves as yet another reason that the BF6 achievement list is such a winner.
Some of Battlefield 6’s Trophies Aren’t Just Trophies
Battlefield 6’s campaign is the blemish on an otherwise stellar shooter, as it’s been criticized for having a messy story, bland gameplay, and poor enemy AI. Still, BF Studios made sure that players will be doubly rewarded for going through it. In addition to the achievements for completing each mission and carrying out specific tasks within them, players will get special in-game rewards as they progress in the campaign. Grabbing all the dog tag collectibles will earn players several skins for use in multiplayer, making gathering them more satisfying, and the same can be said for completing each mission, with campaign completion granting a hunting knife melee weapon. There are also some extra non-Trophy challenges, like completing a mission using only melee attacks, that can net bonuses like weapon camos. Essentially, running through the campaign Trophies kills two birds with one stone, as players are also getting themselves some snazzy rewards for use in multiplayer.
Instead of an objective resembling a Call of Duty Trophy list that requires players to go through every mission on Veteran, Battlefield 6 only has players do a single mission on Hardcore, its hardest difficulty. This saves tons of time and removes frustration, as players can just replay the Tank mission “Nile Guard” for a speedy unlock.
With the rewards making the campaign worthy of a playthrough, even if it is very by-the-books, there’s little reason not to grab the singleplayer achievements in the process. With that out of the way, players can grind out revives and do whatever other multiplayer tasks they don’t complete naturally. In the process, they’ll learn the ins and outs of every Battlefield class and have their fair share of laughs whenever they spot a nod to Marvel or a self-own about Battlefield 2042. With this Trophy list finding that sweet spot between difficulty and fun, it’s a satisfying ride from beginning to end that everyone can enjoy, whether they be achievement hunters like myself or those who normally don’t think twice about the digital status symbols.
