Allied Races have been a part of World of Warcraft since Patch 7.3.5, one of the last patches that were part of Legion. Since then, there have been a total of 10 Allied Races added to the game, five being available for the Alliance and five for the Horde. With the release of The War Within, there is now an eleventh Allied Race being added to the growing roster of races that players can choose from; the Earthen.
Playable Earthen are from Khaz Algar and, since they are not affected by the Curse of Flesh, they retain their original stone forms, which means unique racials. If you want to roll an Earthen alt, or have your new main be an Earthen, here is how you can unlock them.
There are spoilers beyond this point, so proceed with caution.
How to Unlock the Earthen
Back during earlier World of Warcraft expansions like Legion and Battle for Azeroth, unlocking Allied Races was a long and time-consuming process. For Earthen, it is much more simple. All you have to do is complete the Khaz Algar leveling campaign. To do this, you must complete every single campaign quest in Isle of Dorn, The Ringing Deeps, Hallowfall, and Azj-Kahet.
Once you’ve completed the quest that take you back to Dornogal, you will get a pop-up that tells you that you’ve completed the campaign. In addition to the various new features that this unlocks, you will also see a message that the Earthen Allied Race is ready to unlock. You will also need to complete the entire Level 80 campaign, which unlocks once Council of Dornogal, The Assembly of the Deeps, Hallowfall Arathi, and The Severed Threads are all at Renown 4.
Before you can fully unlock the Earthen, you must then complete a lengthy series of quests that give you more insight into the culture of the Earthen. To begin this quest chain, head to Fallside Outpost and accept the quest: “Before I Depart”. In addition to this, there are two more series of side quests that you will need to complete. The first begins with “Discarded and Broken” in The Ringing Deeps, and the second begins with “How Scandalous!” which starts in Dornogal.
If you have completed all of the steps listed above, you will unlock the Allied Race: Earthen achievement. You also get the Earthen racial mount from this achievement as well.
What Level Do Earthen Start At?
Just like with all Allied Races, the Earthen start at Level 10. In addition to that, Earthen have a small series of quests that they must complete before they are transported to their faction’s capital city. At this point, you can begin to level your brand new Earthen alt.
