Xiaomi 17 India Launch Imminent Following BIS Certification; Check Expected Timeline and Specs

The Xiaomi 17 is expected to launch soon in India. While there is no official word regarding this, the Indian variant has been spotted on the BIS certification listing, hinting at an imminent launch. Here’s everything you should know about the upcoming Xiaomi 17 launch in India.

Xiaomi 17 India Launch Likely Soon

The Xiaomi 17 with the 25113PN0EI model number has cleared (spotted by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore) BIS certification. Apart from this, nothing is known from the listing. For the unaware, the Xiaomi 17 series includes the standard Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. However, the Pro and Pro Max variants have not yet appeared on the BIS database.

Earlier, tipster Yogesh Brar claimed that both the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are currently undergoing testing in India. The report also suggested that the Pro and Pro Max models are unlikely to be launched in global markets.

Based on previous information, Xiaomi may launch the Xiaomi 17 globally in January 2026, with the Indian debut expected in January or February 2026. So, there is a chance that both the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra could arrive around the same time in the country. Since there is no official confirmation on this, we’d suggest you to take this with a pinch of salt.

Xiaomi 17 Specifications

The Xiaomi 17 has a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,656×1,220 pixels and supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The handset runs Android 16 out of the box with HyperOS 3.0 skin on top.

For imaging, there is a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, which includes a primary Light Fusion 950 sensor of 50MP with an f/1.67 aperture and a focal length of 23mm, alongside a 50MP telephoto lens and a 50MP ultrawide-angle sensor. The phone also has a 50MP selfie camera sensor. Moreover, the device packs a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The Xiaomi 17 starts in China at CNY 4,499 (approximately Rs 56,000) for the base 12GB/256GB model. Given that, we expect the phone could be priced at around Rs 50,000 in the country.
