Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is known for introducing new power-ups such as the Rasengan Uzuhiko and the Mangekyo Sharingan Ohirume to core characters like Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha. But the manga series isn’t shy of giving villains the power-up they need to push the main characters into a corner. And with Boruto and Kawaki teaming up against the strongest shinju, Jura might receive a new power-up, which Kishimoto has already hinted at in previous Boruto chapters.
Jura’s intense fight with Boruto and Kawaki continues in Two Blue Vortex. While their encounter was earlier than anticipated, fans were thrilled with the blow-by-blow exchange of attacks and strategies that kept the fight even more intense. With Kawaki’s arrival on the battlefield, Jura needs to show his enemies what a Ten-Tails’ incarnation is made of by using a new power-up.

Jura Has the Power of the Ten Tails

Among the humanoid God Trees, otherwise known as the Shinju Clones to many fans, Jura stands as the strongest of them all. Unlike the others, who are based on a shinobi, or a human being, Jura is the direct incarnation of the Ten Tails. While the origin of the new Ten Tails in Boruto remains a mystery, the fact that it gained sentience and awareness through Code’s actions makes Jura a powerful and serious threat to the world.
Still, Boruto and his friends are lucky Jura isn’t the typical villain by shonen standards. Instead of going after Boruto to kill him at the very first chance he gets, he prioritized his longing for knowledge and information about the world, as well as his search for identity and purpose. On top of that, he is deeply interested in humans, especially their behavior and flaws.
But this doesn’t mean Jura has all the time and patience to delay his original plans. In fact, he caused trouble in Konoha when he went hunting for Naruto, attacking Himawari in the process. He’s also engaged in an unexpected encounter with Boruto and Kawaki, fighting their last-minute pair-up without any support from his kind. In the event Jura gets on the losing end, a new power-up should already be waiting for him to turn the fight around.
Jura’s New Power-Up Might Depend on Naruto Uzumaki
Jura Wants to Devour Naruto

At this point, many Boruto fans know that Jura’s target is Naruto Uzumaki, not exactly the Nine-Tails inside his body. He only used the chakra of the Nine Tails to find Naruto most easily and conveniently. But with Naruto losing Kurama through the Baryon Mode, Himawari unexpectedly emerges as the new jinchuriki of the Nine Tails. That’s the reason why Jura found his way to Himawari, instead of Naruto, who remains sealed in a different dimension.

However, Jura’s search for Naruto is not yet over. He wants to devour Naruto, much like the rest of the humanoid God Trees who want to consume their templates or targets. While he doesn’t know where Naruto is at the moment, Kawaki’s arrival in the Land of the Wind could give him a strong lead that brings him one step closer to his target.
In the worst-case scenario where Jura defeats Kawaki and somehow retrieves and consumes Naruto, fans know Jura could gain a massive power boost. He could also gain access to Naruto’s combat experience and knowledge, on top of his signature techniques and abilities. However, should this scenario come true, Kishimoto and Ikemoto might find it difficult to bring Naruto back in future chapters of Boruto.
Why Is Jura Targeting Naruto?
The Reason Is Not Yet Clear
While the exact reason why Jura’s target is Naruto, among other characters in Boruto, remains unclear, fans are speculating that his reason should be similar to the other Shinju Clones who are also after their templates. In other words, Jura might be after Naruto to form his identity, learn the truth about the world, and most importantly, evolve even further.

All of these remain speculations for now, but fans know it’s inevitable for Jura to receive a new power-up, especially if he’s already on the losing end of the fight against Kawaki and Boruto. After all, Jura still has a long way to go before being defeated, especially with so much about his origins still shrouded in mystery. Whether Jura consumes Naruto or not, his new power-up should be a game-changer in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
