As it so happens, Oda has already revealed the new arguably strongest character in the world to the fans in One Piece Chapter 1174, and that character is none other than Loki, the Accursed Prince of Elbaf.

The Prince of Elbaf Holds Legendary Power
One Piece chapter 1174 was absolutely significant for the character of Loki the Accursed Prince. Loki was tied up in the Underworld of the country. 14 years ago, he killed King Harald because he was taken over by none other than Imu. With a heavy heart, Loki managed to put an end to his father’s rampage, but to preserve his dignity, he decided to take the blame for the death and fled the country for many years.
Loki roamed the seas and caused havoc, wanting to seek revenge on Imu. Six years ago, he crossed paths with red-haired Shanks and, in some way, ended up losing to him. Shanks brought Loki back to Elbaf, and he had been chained in the Underworld of the country ever since. It wasn’t until Luffy met Loki that the latter was eventually freed, and now, Oda has shown his powers in full glory.

In One Piece Chapter 1174, Loki was shown transforming into a giant dragon and soaring through the skies of Elbaf. What’s more, the title of the chapter essentially labels Loki as the strongest in the world, and that is truly terrifying and goes to show what might he holds up his sleeve. His size is absolutely immense, and he can easily go on destroying countries if he wishes to do so. Quite clearly, Loki being the strongest in the world comes as no surprise to any fan of the story, given what he has achieved in the past and what he is capable of doing with his Devil Fruit power.

According to Imu, Harald should have been unstoppable, and no force in the world should have been able to defeat him. Yet, Loki managed to do the unthinkable with his tremendous might. Quite clearly, at this point, Oda was already implying that Loki was one of the absolute strongest in the world. However, if that was not enough, One Piece chapter 1174 saw Oda labeling Loki as the strongest in the world very clearly, alongside Luffy.

Loki’s Devil Fruit and the powers of Ragnir make him the absolute strongest in the One Piece world among the mortals. As confirmed in One Piece Chapter 1174, Loki can transform into the Nidhogg Dragon from Norse mythology. His Devil Fruit was the national treasure of Elbaf that remained untouched for centuries. It wasn’t until Loki earned the approval of Ragnir, the Legendary Hammer that can transform into a squirrel, that he was able to eat this legendary Devil Fruit and become an absolute calamity.
Loki was clearly seen transforming into a giant black dragon with the power to manipulate lightning at the same time. Given that he is a Western dragon, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see him being capable of manipulating fire as well. Loki’s powers are off the charts, and at this point in the story, he might just be the strongest character, even above the likes of Luffy.
Loki Can Destroy The Whole World
If Loki wanted to, he could easily destroy Elbaf in a couple of attacks. He could easily fly from one country to another, destroying them with ease, and as such, put an end to the entire world. Loki is a fearsome monster that hardly anyone can compete with. In fact, even the likes of the Four Emperors that One Piece previously highlighted, such as Kaido and Big Mom, cannot stop Loki at his peak, and he is in a completely different league of strength. His feats of stopping King Harald, as well as his ability to destroy the world easily, make him worthy of the title of strongest.
Only Imu And Shanks Are Comparable To Loki
Shanks Somehow Beat Loki 6 Years Ago
It is quite evident from One Piece Chapter 1174 that Oda has labeled Loki as the strongest in the world; however, that doesn’t mean that Loki is unbeatable. As was mentioned in the story previously, six years ago, Loki tasted his first defeat, and this came at the hands of red-haired Shanks. The exact specifics of this defeat remain unclear. It is not known if Shanks versus Loki was a one-on-one battle or if the Red Hair Pirates beat Loki together. The manner in which Shanks managed to capture Loki is also unknown. Perhaps, Loki is still stronger than Shanks yet was unable to defeat him, which is why he calls him a coward of a pirate, or perhaps Shanks is perceived by Oda as the strongest among the strongest of the One Piece world. Clearly, the nature in which Shanks vs Loki went about is unknown. What can be said is that these two characters are in the same league of strength.
Another character that can be said to be in the same league as Loki is none other than the Sovereign of the World, Imu. Imu is quite clearly on a tier above everyone else, such as the Yonko of the One Piece world. Even Rocks D. Xebec was not able to stop Imu on God Valley. However, right now, Loki is much stronger than Rocks and, as such, a rival to Imu’s power in the Elbaf arc. Oda will surely showcase a battle between Loki and Imu, and when this fight unfolds, the question of who the stronger one between the two is will be answered once and for all. For now, it appears that Loki, Imu, and Shanks make up the three strongest characters in One Piece at this particular point in time.
