Samsung’s next compact flagship may already be making its way towards the Indian market. The suspected Galaxy S27 has reportedly appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification database, suggesting that Samsung is working towards bringing the device to India. While the listing does not reveal the phone’s name or specifications, its model number has appeared in other databases alongside details about the upcoming smartphone.

The Galaxy S27 is expected to arrive in early 2027. Leaks suggest that it could feature Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 2700 processor, a 6.3-inch AMOLED display and a 50-megapixel primary camera. Samsung has not confirmed the device or any of these specifications yet.
Samsung Galaxy S27 BIS listing hints at an India launch
The smartphone carrying the model number SM-S952B/DS has reportedly been spotted on the BIS database. This model number is believed to belong to the standard Galaxy S27.
The listing itself does not mention the Galaxy S27 name or provide details about its hardware. However, the same model number has reportedly appeared in other databases, including an NBD listing that points towards some of the phone’s expected specifications.
A BIS certification is an important step for devices that are expected to go on sale in India. It suggests that Samsung is preparing the phone for the market, although it does not confirm when the smartphone will be available to buy.
Samsung Galaxy S27 expected specifications and features
According to current leaks, the Galaxy S27 could feature a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is tipped to come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with a 512GB option also being considered.
The Indian variant is expected to use Samsung’s Exynos 2700 processor. However, the company could continue offering a Qualcomm chipset in select markets. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 has also been mentioned as a possible option for certain regions.
The smartphone is tipped to run Android 17 with Samsung’s One UI 9 interface. These software details have not been confirmed either.
The camera setup could bring a change to Samsung’s standard flagship. Leaks suggest that the Galaxy S27 may use a 50-megapixel Sony sensor for its primary rear camera instead of Samsung’s own ISOCELL sensor.
The main camera could be joined by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor. For selfies and video calls, the phone is expected to feature a 12-megapixel front camera.
If the reports are accurate, the use of a Sony sensor would be a notable hardware change. However, the sensor alone does not determine camera performance. Image processing, stabilisation and other hardware factors will also affect the final results.
The Galaxy S27 is also tipped to pack a battery of around 4,300mAh. The phone could support 25W wired charging, based on a reported listing on China’s 3C certification database.
Wireless charging is also expected to be supported, but Samsung has not shared details about the battery or charging setup.
When will Samsung Galaxy S27 launch in India?
Samsung has not announced a launch date for the Galaxy S27 series. However, the company usually introduces its flagship Galaxy S phones during the first quarter of the year.
The Galaxy S26 series was announced in February 2026. Going by this pattern, Samsung could unveil the Galaxy S27 series in January or February 2027.
For reference, the Galaxy S26 launched in India at a starting price of ₹87,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Samsung has not revealed the Galaxy S27’s expected price, so it is too early to say whether the next generation will cost more.
