However, there aren’t any Gold sources in the plater’s territory so they must plunder their enemy’s mines and take it for their own to start building up their army. This guide helps gamers find a strategy to complete ‘A Fine Plan’ in Age of Mythology: Retold.
How to Prepare to Attack the Trojan Gate
Even though fans will come across ‘A Fine Plan’ early in the campaign, there’s no doubt that it’s a pretty challenging mission. So, they shouldn’t be surprise if it takes them more than a couple of tries to get through it.
Find Gold
Before doing anything else, players need to locate Gold mines on the map so they can claim them as their own and start mining it. Otherwise they won’t be able to build an army, improve their technology, or advance to the next age.
If players open the map in ‘A Fine Plan’, Gold sources will be marked on it with a yellow marker. Here are the eight locations where players can mine Gold in Age of Mythology: Retold‘s ‘A Fine Plan’:
- Top left corner of the map, by the northwestern Trojan encampment
- North of the player’s stable, Trojan mine
- North of the player’s Town Center, Trojan mine
- On a small island south of the player’s settlement
- East of the player’s Town Center, two Trojan mines near their eastern gate
- On the bottom right corner of the map, two Gold sources on a Trojan encampment
The Gold Mines located north and east of the player’s town are guarded by a few Trojans, but it’s safe to target them at the start of the game without creating more units, which is why gamers should target them first.
Farm Resources
Players will want to hold off on sending their military units farther into Trojan territory until they’ve increases their army’s strength. They also won’t want to leave their villagers attended so improve defenses is also crucial to achieving victory.
With all of this mind, players should focus on farming resources. As this is a must if gamers want to advance to the next age, build more buildings, and unlock upgrades, which should be a priority.
Protect Your Base
Trojan soldiers will approach the player’s base from time to time, and they’ll come from the north and east.
These locations should always have units patroling nearby, and it also helps to build Walls and place a few Watch Towers. This prevents enemies from racing into the player’s territory, destroying their buildings, and killing their villagers.
To avoid spamming out military units in a frenzy, players must ensure that they can defend their territory.
Destroy Trade Caravans
There are three Trojan Town Centers in ‘A Fine Plan’. Besides the the target area behind the gate, there’s one Town Center on the top left corner of the map and another one on the bottom right corner of the map.
Trade Caravans will continuously go back and forth between the settlements and the Trojans’ base. Players can order their units to target these caravens when they go by or raze the town entirely to bring down Trojan forces.
Unlock Fortresses
Players will want to make sure that they reach the Heroic Age and unlock Fortresses in Age of Mythology: Retold before they attempt to break down the gate. To build siege weapons as the Greeks, gamers must build a Fortress first. Siege weapons do the most Crush Damage in Age of Mythology: Retold, which they why they’re so important to completing ‘A Fine Plan’.
Increase Favor
Favor lets players use god powers in Age of Mythology: Retold, so they must make sure that they have enough Favor before their attack. God powers, such as Earthquake and Curse, can handle tons of enemies at the same time, and activating them at the right moment can diminish the enemy’s military count in a second.
How to Destroy the Trojan Gate
Once players have built up their military, they must go all in and attack. Gamers will want to keep their siege weapons safe while the rest of their army handles military forces. Then, they can roll in and target the walls.
As soon as the Trojan wall’s health is depleted, the player will complete the mission and come out victorious.
