Mumbai, May 16, 2025: In a symbolic gesture of friendship and shared commitment to climate action, the Government of India gifted 15 Curvv EVs to the Government of Nepal. The handover was led by the Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Shri Naveen Srivastava, and Nepal’s Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba.
This gesture was part of India’s support for the first Sagarmatha Sambaad—a global dialogue on ‘Climate Change, Mountains, and the Future of Humanity,’ which will take place in Kathmandu from May 16 to 18, 2025.
The Nepalese government established ‘Sagarmatha Sambaad’, a global dialogue platform, to address major international, regional, and national environmental concerns, as well as various policies affecting climate change.

Earlier, Bhupinder Yadav, India’s Minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, met with Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli to extend warm greetings from the Indian leadership and congratulate Nepal on successfully hosting the first Sagarmatha Sambaad.
During their meeting, both leaders emphasised the deep-rooted and friendly relationship between India and Nepal, grounded in shared history, culture, and strong people-to-people ties. They also explored ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of environmental conservation.
