BENGALURU, 10th June 2025: Vadodara-based electric vehicle (EV) charging major ChargeZone is set to launch what it claims is India’s largest EV charging parking hub near Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, on June 11, significantly expanding the city’s EV infrastructure.
The new hub, located in the airport precinct, will house 214 fast DC charging bays with simultaneous parking, designed to cater to the growing number of electric cars using the airport.
With this project, ChargeZone is aiming to both reduce carbon emissions associated with airport commutes and strengthen Bengaluru’s green mobility push.

“This hub is designed not just for scale but to provide fast turnaround for EV users commuting to and from the airport,” said Kartikeya Hariyani, a company executive, adding that the initiative aligns with Bengaluru’s broader sustainability goals and the rising adoption of electric vehicles in the city.
While this facility currently holds the distinction of being the largest in India, it is likely to be overtaken soon by an even bigger charging hub under development in Kolkata’s Thakurpukur area. That upcoming facility, being set up by EzUrja, is expected to feature 300 chargers—making it the second-largest globally after a major hub in China. The Kolkata facility will also include a solar-powered microgrid with a capacity of 6 MW, emphasising its commitment to sustainable energy sourcing.
As EV adoption accelerates across India, industry players are racing to build the necessary infrastructure to support long-distance and urban commutes. Bengaluru, often dubbed India’s tech capital, has seen rising EV usage particularly in fleet operations, airport transport, and personal mobility segments.

Serving electric vehicles, buses, and commercial EV fleets, ChargeZone, one of India’s leading providers of EV charging infrastructure, currently runs a nationwide network of 13,500 charging stations. With a goal of setting up one million charging stations in the upcoming years, the company has big plans to increase its presence.
The opening of the Bengaluru hub further supports the growing role of airports as EV infrastructure anchors. Fast-charging stations are becoming a standard feature in major city airport zones to serve fleet operators, private users, and business travellers alike.
With this launch, ChargeZone hopes to solidify its position as the industry leader in India’s cutthroat EV charging market and position itself to satisfy the needs of a market that is quickly moving towards electric vehicles.
