NEW DELHI, 25th April 2025: Faridabad-based Omega Seiki Mobility has placed a significant order of Rs 50 crore with Ergon Labs to integrate the company’s cutting-edge Integrated Power Converter (IPC) into its electric three-wheelers, and Omega promoters are making a substantial investment in the company.
Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Pvt. Ltd., expressed his excitement for the investment, recognising the importance of such innovations and stating, “It is clear that Ergon brings world-class engineering to India’s EV ecosystem.” I am thrilled to collaborate with this exceptional team and bring their revolutionary product to market.’ Narang is also planning to join Ergon’s advisory board following his strategic investment in the component manufacturer.
The company plans to begin with the e-autos or L5 segment, using IPC technology, which combines the on-board charger and motor controller into a single, compact unit, resulting in exceptional performance, reliability, and charging convenience for electric three-wheelers.
The technology provides significant benefits, including a 50% increase in charging speed, the ability to add over 50 km of range in under an hour using any standard 15A socket, and a 30% reduction in system costs when compared to traditional separate on-board chargers and motor controllers, according to senior company executives.
Ergon Labs CEO Ashwin Ramanujam said, “This moment represents the culmination of three years of dedicated product development by our engineering team.” More importantly, it paves the way for our next major innovation, one-hour home charging for two-wheelers, which is set to launch in 2026.
They claim it also reduces wiring harness complexity and increases vehicle efficiency.
The two companies are also collaborating on the development of a high-performance L5 Cargo electric vehicle capable of carrying over 500 kg of payload while maintaining an impressive 30% gradeability, with the goal of replacing diesel vehicles in areas such as Kerala and the Northeast.
