Multiplayer action-adventure game South Park: Snow Day has launched two different DLC packs that provide a lot of new ways to play, including the addition of a stealth-oriented weapon type. The arrival of the Good Times with Weapons and Nichole’s Home Brew Story packs mark the first new DLC for South Park: Snow Day since early August.
South Park: Snow Day was released on March 26, 2024, and a steady stream of 13 different DLC packs has already been released since its launch. The game continues the story set up by previous South Park games The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole, placing the player once again in the role of The New Kid and having them interact with fantasy-themed versions of the Colorado town’s kids, like Princess Kenny and a wizard version of Cartman. However, unlike those turn-based RPGs, Snow Day shifted gameplay into a four-person, squad-based action-adventure format with parties made up of a combination of humans and bots.

A Destiny 2 player online creates some excellent pieces of Guardian fashion, after turning their character into the South Park protagonists.
While the game launched with just three melee weapons to choose from, previous DLC packs have added sickles and a hammer to mix up play style. With the Good Times with Weapons pack, named after the celebrated, anime-inspired episode of the animated series, players can augment their magic wand ranged weapon to toss ninja stars at their enemies. Adding to the stealth-based weapon feature in South Park: Snow Day, additional upgrade cards will appear as players progress through levels, giving them options like increasing their speed, dealing more damage with each consecutive hit, or turning invisible to enemies for a short time. The pack also comes with five new cosmetic options, including a ninja star to the eye, and one emote.

In addition to the new weapon to augment squad combat styles when playing South Park: Snow Day with a team of friends, the Nichole’s Home Brew Pack brings five new sets of rules that players can select from to increase the game’s difficulty and develop new strategies around. For example, the Air Superiority rules give players a permanent Moon Shoes buff, increasing the damage dealt by ranged weapons while nerfing melee attacks, while The Floor is Lava places damage-dealing zones all over the games’ maps. This pack comes with seven different cosmetic additions, four of which reflect the main character’s in-game hats.
Those longing for the days of the more classic turn-based South Park games are also in luck if they own an Xbox Series X or S. South Park: The Fractured But Whole came to Xbox Game Pass on October 16, letting fans of the series catch up on the history of The New Kid and experience the series’ gameplay in a much more different format.
