Summary
- Leaks from Genshin Impact are hinting at the release windows for several previously teased areas from past locations, setting up expansions to older regions.
- The leak suggests that the Version 6 cycle may introduce several teased maps including Dornman Port and Mont Esus among others.
- The next major cycle for Genshin Impact is also rumored to not feature the full Snezhnaya region, instead whisking players to the Snezhnayan border city of Nod-Krai.
Genshin Impact leaks are potentially hinting at the addition of several long-rumored areas to the in-game map, including locales in Mondstadt and Fontaine among others. The playable world for the massively popular HoYoverse RPG has grown exponentially since its release in 2020, adding a wide variety of unique new locales for players to explore. Each update cycle has typically added a new region to the game, most recently seeing the debut of the Natlan region in Version 5.0. Now, leaks may be teasing multiple new expansions to pre-existing regions.
Though Genshin Impact has typically debuted expansive regions with plenty to do, HoYoverse often holds new locations for later exciting updates. Following Liyue’s initial release in Version 1.0, HoYoverse would add two more sections to the China-themed region with The Chasm launching in Version 2.6 and Chenyu Vale in Version 4.4. In-game lore has also teased a variety of locations that have been speculated to be added at a later date, including Mondstadt’s Dornman Port and Fontaine’s Mont Esus. However, fans may not have to wait much longer to see new expansions to past regions.

Genshin Impact Leak Teases Multiple New Areas
A recent update shared by prominent HoYoverse leaker Flying Flame teases a potential release window for several rumored Genshin Impact areas. The leak suggests that Genshin Impact‘s Version 6 cycle may see the long-awaited release of multiple rumored areas within Genshin Impact, hinting at Dornman Port and Mont Esus. Though not explicitly mentioned, the leak could potentially include smaller teased areas like Inazuma’s “youkai village” that have previously been mentioned in Genshin Impact‘s in-game lore. The Version 6 cycle for Genshin Impact is expected to begin in Summer 2025.
The potential introduction of multiple areas for older regions comes as the Version 6 cycle is rumored to see a marked departure from past updates. Recent early information from Genshin Impact has suggested that players may not be able to explore the main body of Snezhnaya following Version 6.0’s launch. Leaks have hinted that players may instead arrive to the Snezhnayan border city of Nod-Krai, said to be a “melting pot” of people from all across Teyvat. The leak also suggests that Snezhnaya’s full release could be pushed as far as Version 7.0.
While Genshin Impact’s older regions still include several unexplored areas, HoYovese has given fans plenty of reasons to return to past locales. Each region typically receives a yearly event whisking players back to their past adventures, including Liyue’s Lantern Rite and Sumeru’s Sabzeruz Festival. Mondstadt also houses much of Genshin Impact‘s endgame content within its borders, with both the Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater located within the Anemo region. Genshin Impact‘s previous regions may be set to grow substantially throughout the RPG’s next major cycle.
