Guilty Gear Strive fans are not happy with the latest update to the game. Sometimes a patch will be released for a title that leaves a sour taste in the mouths of fans. That seems to be the case with the latest update for Guilty Gear Strive.

Guilty Gear Strive was originally released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2021. The game then made its way over to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in March 2023. Guilty Gear Strive will release on the Nintendo Switch in January 2025 and will include the first three seasons of DLC characters, though it will not support crossplay like other versions of the title.

Guilty Gear Strive’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Guest Character Has Major Implications Moving Forward

Following the reveal of the entire Season 4 DLC roster for Guilty Gear Strive, which includes a guest fighter, the series may never be the same again.

Many gamers have been voicing their disappointment with the Season 4 update for Guilty Gear Strive. As reported by Shacknews, players were not happy with changes to the play style of characters like Potemkin and Sol Badguy, which forced gamers to adjust how they used them. There are also complaints about fighters such as Guilty Gear veterans Johnny and Ramlethal Valentine, who received great buffs and only a few nerfs in the update. The new patch came with a number of bugs that affected characters Leo, Chipp, and Faust as well.

Guilty Gear Strive Fans Are Not Happy With the Season 4 Update

On Twitter, Guilty Gear Strive producer Ken Miyauchi said that he sees many of the concerns that players have with the latest patch and that he has been talking to the development team. He stated that they are discussing what can be done, as well as how soon the fixes can be released. Miyauchi mentioned that he will keep fans of the game posted on future news regarding the title’s latest update. Many gamers showed their appreciation for the fact that Miyauchi is communicating with the games’ fan base while also voicing changes that they would like to see. This included characters that they hope will receive buffs, including Guilty Gear Strive’s Bridget and Elphelt.

Season 4 of Guilty Gear Strive was released on October 31 and will run through the rest of this year and a large portion of 2025. The first DLC character to be released for the game this season was Queen Dizzy, a fan favorite who received a visual makeover. Series veteran Venom releases in early 2025, while newcomer Unika will drop in Spring 2025 as the third fighter of Season 4. Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will then drop in Summer 2025 as the first Guilty Gear crossover character. Players can also look forward to two new stages and a 3v3 mode that will help provide a unique way to experience the game.
