How To Get The Tracking Visor In Fortnite
There are a variety of ways that players can get the Tracking Visor in Fortnite, with the first being to simply come across it via a Chest or as floor loot. However, both methods offer the least likely chance of players obtaining the item.
To increase their chances of finding a Tracking Visor, players should instead look out for Academy Stands and Hero Caches. Academy Stands typically contain one of the various Hero Items introduced in Chapter 6 Season 3, with the Tracking Visor being one such item. Academy Stands can be found all over the island, in pretty much every major location, so players should keep their eyes peeled when searching for one.
Hero Caches, on the other hand, also offer a chance of giving players a Tracking Visor, but this is heavily reliant on the Hero Rank of the cache. Rank B through S Hero Caches each offer a random Hero Item, and players are required to have the corresponding Hero Rank in that match to unlock them. Both Hero Caches and Academy Stands can be found in various locations, but are also guaranteed within the locked rooms of the Tech Lab over at Supernova Academy.
How To Use The Tracking Visor In Fortnite
The Tracking Visor is a unique utility item in Fortnite that players cannot use to damage enemies in any way. However, it boasts two key abilities that provide a tactical advantage in Battle Royale. The first, and likely the most commonly used, is the ability to reveal nearby enemies by pressing the shoot button while the Tracking Visor is equipped.
When activated, the Tracking Visor sends out a sonar pulse over a wide area, highlighting and tracking any enemies caught in it for a short duration. The visor has unlimited uses for this ability, but once activated, it enters a 25-second cooldown before it can be used again.
The second ability of the Tracking Visor is its capacity to track the recent footprint trails of enemies. If players have the visor equipped and happen to cross a path recently taken by another player, green footprints will appear, showing the direction they traveled. This ability is passive, requires no input, and players do not need to have the Tracking Visor actively in hand for it to function.
